Banking on a delightful experience

Most recently, I built out the first-ever User Experience practice at a proudly-local, mid-sized bank in Cincinnati OH: First Financial Bank. Under my, and my team’s influence, the bank had it’s first UX Research repository, design system, client panel, and design-thinking workshop! As most of my work was strategic & future-focused in nature, please request to see my password protected portfolio for any other details about my work at the bank.

Keeping the 'Human' in HCM

At Paycor, I was responsible for building lovable experiences as a Product Designer. Paycor offers a full-suite of HR-related products for small-mid sized businesses across the United States.

I spent my time actively researching, testing, and delivering some of my favorite Minimum Lovable Products, including an Org Chart, Company Directory, Onboarding Solution, Mobile App, and more! Some of my projects are available publicly but I’m happy to share more about my research and time by request.

Higher Education Solutions

Enterprise software can be tough! There are very few 'easy' problems to solve, especially in the realm of higher education. But solving them correctly can make an profound impact on user's lives!

I leverage personas, user story mapping, and LOTS of research to meet and exceed user's expectations. Once I feel good about an approach, I test it with stakeholders, subject matter experts,  end-users, my team, pretty much anyone to get feedback. I <3 feedback!

Here are some concepts I've worked on to help solve complex problems.

Kroger's Online Shopping Site

I played a key role in the release of Kroger's newest ecommerce endeavor - A click & collect grocery service now available in Cincinnati, OH.

I specifically had a hand in overseeing and supporting all project and development.
I decided key interactions and user flows within the site, and made swift and effective improvements after ethnography and mobile research discoveries.

Recent Email Campaigns

I have a guilty pleasure. It's not the band Hanson, okay that's one of them.. it's Email creative.

...So perfectly ephemeral.
I'm dazzled by click and open rates.
I crave cutting-edge call-to-actions.
I love the short-lived nature and dangerous terrain that an email must perform in.
Here are some emails I recently designed for Misook, J.Peterman, and Kroger Technology.

PlantMD Site

A quick, slim deadline, responsive web design, freelance project.

I provided some UX guidance, assisting wireframes, and a site "look & feel guide" for plantmd.com (launches April 2015)

If you have an injured houseplant that you're desperate to pull back from the death ledge, this is the website for you!

Traditional Illustration

I casually step from the computer screen to dabble in painting and drawing.
If you'd like to hire me for any whimsical, even playful illustrations, well, that's just up my alley!

Print Design & Identity

I can barely contain myself when clients approach me with an idea for a new... anything.

And oh, the romance of the printed page.

Even though most of my day-to-day work involves RGB, pixels, cascading style sheets, and jquery, I will always have a soft spot for ink and paper.

But LOGO is such a small word to mean something so core, so explosive, so IMPORTANT!
Here are also some of the logos I've collaborated with some very nice people to make!

Green Thumb

Design and UX are definitely passions but I also fashion myself a gardner. The tomato seedlings are coming along nicely this year (organic martha washington variety) and I've got some basil, spinach, and jalapenos as well. Thank you johnny seeds!
